Named in honor of our owner's beloved Grandmother Marion, The Koselig House is the premier provider of Assisted Living and Memory Care in DeForest, Wisconsin. Our team provides round-the-clock specialized care for seniors looking for assistance with daily tasks and for those with memory loss related to Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia. At The Koselig House, we provide a full spectrum of daily services and offer more than just a comfortable place to live. Nestled in the tranquil community of DeForest, WI, our home was purposefully designed so that our
residents are encouraged to be active, eat well, participate socially,
engage mentally, and live a purposeful, joy filled life.
The Koselig Home is situated just north of Sun Prairie, WI and Madison, WI, which allows for our residents to remain active in these outside communities, including taking shopping trips, going to theatrical productions, and more!
Life Enrichment Activities
Taking care of a person is not just about the physical well being, but incorporates the mind, body, and soul. Residents of The Koselig House can experience several life enriching activities per day which center around exercise, spirituality, music and the arts, sensory therapy, cognitive stimulation, and life skills. Each is tailored to the resident to promote independence and choice.
Person-Centered Care
We are honored to care for those with or without memory loss. This includes those who have Alzheimer's disease or other form of dementia. Our dedicated team can assist with a variety of personal cares, including medication management, dressing, eating, bathing, and toileting. We utilize a proactive approach to personalize our care to meet the needs of each resident.
Optional Health Services
In an effort to meet all of our residents health and medical needs, we are proud to work with a number of outside health providers. These include, but are not limited to: physical therapy, diagnostic services, home health, hospice, lab services, incontinence products, pharmacy and podiatry services.
The Koselig Story
Marion Senn was the type of Grandmother everyone loved. She was hilarious and kind. She possessed a spirit filled with light and elegance. Marion was a proud Norwegian, who passed her heritage and traditions on to all she knew and loved.
However, like millions of others, she suffered from Alzheimer's disease.
To honor her life and legacy, the Senn family dedicated The Koselig House to Grandma Marion. She would be proud of The Koselig House and the high quality of life and care it provides. She would agree that Koselig is an appropriate name, because in Norwegian it means:
"a feeling of deep contentment, provided by a person, place or atmosphere; experiencing happiness and personal well-being through
a combination of nature, companionship, and coziness"
